Prague Town Day 1

Hello all!

I got back from Prague last night but I was way to tuckered out to update. It was absolutely amazing. I could not have picked a better place to travel. Since there are so many pictures I am going to break it down into two parts... so day one:

Jenny, Lindsay and I left for the airport at 345 am to catch a shuttle. We had a 735 flight on Wizzair.

View from the plane
After a two hour flight we landed in Prague!

It's official!
We got to our Hostel at the Mosaic house.. it was gorgeous!

After we dropped our stuff off it was time for our first Prague meal... Falafel

Yum... so delicious

Once our bellies were fully of delicious Prague food we were to the old town center to explore... it was breath taking

So happy to be in Prague!
We decided first day out to take a tour of Prague. The tour was free and took us everywhere. It was so intersting and tour guide was hilarious

It was a bit cold in Prague and the tour was very long so we had to bundle up ad keep warm

Prague Castle
After a day of site-seeing we headed out for a lovely Czech meal

"Chocolate Beer"
Now I personally do not like beer at all but even I have to admit this was very tasty. It was brewed right in our restaurant.

First Prague dinner-- Veggie Salad with a side of Czech potato pancakes. AMAZING

After dinner we decided to check out the famous Prague nightlife and danced the night away at a fun 5-floor club. It was an amazing time but our feet were tired. We had no trouble falling asleep that night.

It was a great first day... and the second was even better. To be continued.

But first I would like to make a small dedication and remember a great person. Sadly, on my trip I found out my mother's best friend's daughter and a wonderful girl I have known since I was born had passed away unexpectedly.

Jennifer “Jenna” Agule, 22, was tragically taken from us on January 26, 2011 during a skiing accident in Colorado. In her twenty-two years, Jenna accomplished more than one could even dream of in a lifetime. Always a loving and caring humanitarian, her passion for travel and exploration led her to Honduras, South Africa, Africa, Great Britain, Colorado, Cape Cod and travel across the country. Pursuing a life full of adventure, Jenna’s interests included skiing, hiking, music, singing, acting and the occasional bungee jump. She was happiest while discovering new experiences with friends, family and nature. Jenna’s zest for life and warm heart continues to inspire her family and friends to better themselves.

Jenna was an absolutely amazing person. Summer after freshman year I was contemplating my going abroad. I had always wanted to in college but I was starting to chicken out a bit. Jenna and I sat in Trident cafe and she told me all of her amazing stories from when she had traveled and lived in Africa. She inspired me to journey abroad promising me it would be the most amazing experience of my life. I would consider myself fortunate if I could achieve and experience in my lifetime all that she did in her far too short 22 years of life. I am so sad I could not be home in Boston today for her service. But I will keep in my heart and thoughts during this whole time abroad and remember life is too short, so make it worth while. Rest in Peace Jenna <3

Oompa Loompa Doopity Dee

Sometimes class here can seem torturous. Just because having all of Europe at your fingertips makes sitting in a classroom so tedious sometimes. So my professor found a great way to remedy that...

That's right! We got taken to chocolate heaven for field trip! Not too shabby. Now going in, I was kind of expecting this...

And to honest... some parts were not far off...
Entrance!

First free sample of many!

Legends of the Hidden Temple?

Fresh Chocolate anyone?

Cadbury ride!

Literally restrained myself from jumping over the table and grabbing the chocolate

Lovely day in the factory

Gift shop!

All these treats and presents for 8 pounds... I say a job well done.

Apologies for the short entry but I am actually heading to Lindsay and Jenny's dorm because at 3:45 AM... yes AM we start our trek to PRAGUE! Hopefully the sugar rush will help.

Czech in with you all Sunday (tehe pun)

One moment you're...

Thing I love about London # 73,294,712. In a moment's notice, your night can go from this...

To this...

And end with this...

This weekend has been very non-stop, with errands and plenty of fun nights with friends. The pictures above come from the most random and crazy night --Thursday. During the seminar period, we don't have classes on Friday which allows ample exploration time on Thursday nights.

Thursday started out with YO Sushi... which is a giant converyer belt of delicious sushi that you pay for by the plate. Brianne, Aimee, Meryl and I had a 40% off coupon so we decided to enjoy ourselves.

All this food and only 7.80 a person... DELICIOUSLY CHEAP

After we were fully stuffed with massive amounts of sushi we went on a quest to find the Golden Eagle, a local and colorful pub known for their piano sing-a-longs.  We asked the guy at Yo sushi... and he gave us very detailed directions IN THE COMPLETELY WRONG DIRECTION haha.
We walked for about half and hour and jumped the tube only to realize that the Golden Eagle was literally the next street over from Yo sushi... oops

But when we finally got there, we were able to split a pint and join in some lovely piano singing with a bunch of lovely old gents. Sadly the place was not that crowded so we left and went to explore some more.

We were about to head home when Brianne ran into her friends that attend a local college in the area. They were headed to a small dance club around the corner and had access to the VIP lounges. How could we say no to VIP dancing?
Oh why hello old friends!

The club was so much fun. Very Euro underground with a great array of music and LOTS OF GLOW IN THE DARK THINGS!

he rest of the weekend was a great deal of random adventures with friends. I'll let the pictures tell the story

T

Now I should be getting my butt off to study. Yeah apparently they weren't kidding about the study part of study abroad. And I have to get all my work done because THE JETS PLAY OFF GAME IS TONIGHT!!!!!

I bid you adieu

Museum Galavanting and full-frontal 'Snogging'

So now I am into my second week in London and am finally developing a routine. I have class until 2 Monday through wednesdays and have found fun ways to spending the evenings. Gym runs, group dinners the occasional pubs have all gotten my out of the vacation phase and into the real life living stage of London.

Today I had a class off so I got to have a little bit of fun. After a very refreshing pilates class to loosen me up ( the beds here are NOT helping my back and neck) Jeremy and I went to British Museum.

Outside the entrance

The museum is crazy big. There is so much to see. I love having the days free in the afternoon so I can go to the museums when they aren't too crowded. Right now this is only the third museum I have been to. But I have 6 more on my list. And that's just London!

Walking like an Egyptian tehe

Rosetta Stone!

"I want to jump in front of it!"
...and I copied ;)

After the Museum Jeremy and I decided we were in the mood for a good Snog...

"
Gotcha!

Snog is a fantastic frozen yogurt place where you can add your own toppings!

Inside

Tehe, my small little snog

I got some green tea froyo with chocolate and oreo

And Jeremy got natural froyo with banana and strawberries

Nom nom... delish!

Definitely the perfect ending to an adventure...

Also next weekend I will going on my first trip with these lovely ladies

Our friends Nick and Arthur are coming as well..

But where are we going?? *Drum Roll*...

PRAGUE!!!!!

Jenny and I also plain our Spring break.. but you will have to stay tuned for that. But if anyone has bee to prague before and has some site suggestions, please let me know!

Time for dinner and then Bryan and I are seeing King's Speech at the 2 for 1 movie night which equals about 3 pounds for each of us!

Cheers'
