1st Day Across the Pond

'Ello all!

Sorry I did not update yesterday. It was a very long long long day. We took off from Newark around 9pm on Saturday night. it was a big 747 but sadly I was stuck in the middle seat of the middle row next to some very unhappy babies. So due to lack of room and excess of baby cries, I didn't sleep much. But didn't matter! 6 hours later we landed in Heathrow and my new home for the next four months...

LONDON!

We took a cab to my new housing. (Sadly no picture yet but it's awesome) Our room is actually really nicce! I have a double with a girl named Kelsey who I have never met until now but she's hilarious. Our room is actually between the 1st and 2nd floor and we have our own private little staircase and hallway.

 (VIP ROOM)
The stairs are actually a wee bit dangerous. Kelsey and I want to get a whiteboard to keep track how many times we fall. She's at 3 and I am at 1.

( The sign on our door, they realize we're both kltuz)

Our double is pretty big and we have a lovely window view of south kensington.

( All unpacked)
The orientation part of the day wasn't too bad. It was just hard because of the major jet lag we were all experiencing. We saw all around the area we live, which was so pretty.
(Area outside the dorm... you think I would taken a picture of my building)
(My roomie checking out the sites)
My RA Caroline explaining buildings)
(Hyde Park... RIGHT down the street)
(Eat your heart out Boston commons)

After the walking tours and kitchen meetings, (there are 3 kitchens per floor) Kelsey, some friends and I went out to do some much needed errands with our friends, mainly we had to get food! It took us about 20 minutes and one helpful bus boy to find it, but we were successful ( after the guys agreed to stop for directions... typical)

(Bryan buying some jam for our breakfast baguettes... yum)
 (So happy for food!)
(Merlot in a plastic bottle. Gotta keep it classy)
 (First legal alcohol purchase!)
(Sadly we dropped it on the way out and it spilled everywhere!)

All and all it was a perfect first day. We passed out early due to sheer exhaustion. I can tell from the first day this experience is going to be amazing. Everyone is so nice and the place is beautiful!

Well I am off to Rehab ( a music club, not pullin' an Amy Whinehouse just yet)

Cheers!
